TLDR; 0/5 stars for Oldenkamp, 5/5 for Werschler. I've had two appts here, first one with Dr. Oldenkamp and the next Dr. Werschler. My appointment with Oldenkamp left SUCH a bad taste in my mouth that I called back later that day to reschedule my follow up with anyone else. It took longer to check in, than it did for her to examine me. She was in the exam room for not even 5 minutes, examined my skin for maybe 30 seconds, and was extremely dismissive of anything I had to say about my symptoms. Basically refusing to look at the pictures I took of my arms when it was flaring up the week prior. Felt like a huge waste of time and money. However, my follow up 2 weeks later with Dr. Werschler was one of the most productive health appointments I have ever had. I have a long history of health problems, so I'm no stranger to doctor's offices. He genuinely listened to everything I had concerns about, and tried to address each one. He asked very many questions about my overall health history and gave me lots of information to get me going in the right direction with a rheumatologist. I believe he also went over my scheduled appointment time just to make sure I got all the info (sorry for keeping you late!) I have never left an appointment feeling so validated, educated, and actually listened to. This just shows that good doctors do exist! If you're not satisfied with your current care, speak up and don't assume all doctors are the same. Good ones do exist. The front desk gals are also very friendly!

Thank you!] 5/5: The staff are very kind, professional and friendly. 0/5: The billing/insurance department is sorely lacking. I (a grown adult) left in tears today. Despite being in communication for the past 4 months asking for a new pre-authorization and being assured this would occur and had occurred, I took time off work and arrived for my appointment today only to discover (when I asked to see it!) that they were using an expired pre-authorization and had NOT gotten a new one as I requested. If I had not noticed, I would have been on the hook for over $1,000 of out of pocket treatment costs! This has been a nightmare since December (when my original appointment was cancelled because the clinic did not have the needed product and I could not be rescheduled until January - I have yet to be seen due to these insurance issues). I was told (again...) that they would request a pre-authorization from the CORRECT insurance. Time will tell if that happens. I normally give people the benefit of the doubt. But this 4-month, almost incredibly costly ongoing ordeal has been so emotionally draining that I felt the need to detail this frustrating experience as a heads-up to potential clients.

The entire process from scheduling an appointment to seeing the doctor is remarkably uncomplicated at Spokane Dermatology! Super nice staff and always a breeze - right in and out. Dr. Oldenkamp has earned my absolute confidence over the years.

Staff is pleasant and helpful. Dr Taylor is very efficient and thorough. I would highly recommend her. I feel very confident in her care.
