Charleston Surgical Hospital exceeded all of our expectations! We visited on New Year’s Eve for my husband’s colonoscopy screening, and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. From start to finish, every single staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly, professional, and compassionate. We were surprised to see some negative reviews here on Google specifically about the staff because our experience was the complete opposite. This team cares—you can feel it in the way they interact with patients and families. Granted, it was surprisingly not busy on New Year’s Eve, so perhaps it’s different on busier days, but my husband received excellent care. Dr. Mohamed Sankari was outstanding—his bedside manner was impeccable, and his knowledge and explanations put my husband completely at ease. He went above and beyond to answer questions and make sure everything was clear. My husband couldn’t stop praising him afterward! The RNs were also absolutely lovely—so attentive and kind. We are so thankful for the amazing care my husband received. Highly recommend this hospital and its incredible team!

This place is wonderful!! Right on the Blvd in downtown Charleston 1.2 miles from my condo on the Blvd. Great location easy parking and great patient drop off and pick up. I've had 2 total shoulder reconstructions and rotator cuff surgery's. Dr. Legg and his crew. Never a worry. Nurse's and technicians best ever. Because of this AWESOME little hospital I just had 25 years taken off my life. I'm a different person I have 2 arms that I can actually use again. Love this hospital, love this crew of Doctors, Nurse's, Secretary's the place is awesome from start to finish. Total asset to the state of West Virginia. I highly recommend this medical philosophy. The staff here are great. Caring and attentive. Would reccomend this hospital to anyone have a surgical procedure. They were kind to my family and made me feel like I was the only patient they had. Very responsive to my needs.

DO NOT GO HERE. I was going for a colonoscopy because I've been having severe constipation and blood in stool... they have me prep the whole day before with OTC laxatives.. when I go in for surgery, the nurse is already rushing me to get undressed and clearly could care less about me.. she had a snippy attitude with me when I told her I was not pooping clear liquid after the prep "did u do the prep that's what it was for" and I said YES IM CONSTIPATED THATS PART OF THE PROBLEM... I then was told they couldn't do anything for me since I had regular stool that morning. WHY WOULD THIS NOT BE TOLD TO ME BEFORE WASTING MY TIME AND RESOURCES, EVEN GETTING AS FAR AS UNDRESSED JUST THEN TO BE TOLD. I also told the nurse she's been snippy with me since I got there and she shot back with an attitude "I have not and don't appreciate your tone" I wanted her name but as u can imagine NO ONE GAVE ME HER NAME to cover her butt but the other nurse made false accusations against me saying I cussed the people down stairs to her superior. Dr. Hafarr offered to give me something to make me poop (you would think they would do this to begin with) and do surgery Friday and that I have nothing to worry about I'm young as far as colon cancer. They don't care I watched my father die of it, or that his mother and sister also died from it. They don't care about the wide range of emotions someone may be feeling going through this. I said no I don't want to work with you or your team at all. Then he too got a little attitude and left. I think maybe they treat you different when your on medicaid or certain prescriptions. Its sad I didn't get the care I deserved. This place is a JOKE.

I had an upper GI, the nurse who started my IV, with cute pigtails and braces…. SHE ROCKS!! I have never had someone to stick an iv so fast, efficient AND almost painlessly!! They were all really sweet and explained everything going on up to the point, “you’re going to start feeling sleepy, but don’t worry, we got you!” Would go here for all my ailments if I could. 👍
