Erick Martell, MD: Plastic Surgery

Such a wonderful experience with this office. Dr. Martell is by far the most outstanding surgeon Alaska has to offer and Fairbanks has him. The professionalism of his team from the time you enter the door to the nurses who assist ; you are treated as a person who matters. Their availability to answer questions is superb. Dr. Martell is honest with his expectations for outcome and will give you the best result . He explains everything in detail and makes sure you are comfortable with the decision of course of treatment and follow-up care.

Anchorage plastic surgeons were booking months out so I traveled from Nome to Fairbanks instead, to have Dr. Martell do my breast reduction surgery. What was first an extra travel hassle turned out to the best thing that could have happened! Dr. Martell is delightful and confident. He assured me I would be thrilled with the surgery, and four months later I couldn’t be happier! He is truly an artist!

When I arrived the receptionist was on the phone trying to secure COVID benefits for herself. She shoved a kindle at me and said fill this out. I could not see the key board. She called someone else to help me fill out the form on the kindle after I explained that I could not see the screen twice. She did not help me in any other way until she got off the phone 10minutes after my appointment time. I was referred by another doctor to have a mole/lesion removed for a biopsy. When I seen Dr. Martell he told me that he could not do that until he knew that he would be paid for the procedure. I am on Medicare and it takes experience to negotiate payments. When I expressed my surprise that the procedure would not be done today. Dr. Martell told me that he was not going to do the procedure today or any other day. He said I could just get on the very long waiting list at the only dermatologist in town. The next town is 360 miles away. Here I am with no biopsy,. I would never recommend this “doctor” to anyone. Money is more important than people to him.

I had plastic surgery, my recovery went perfect, and I’m super satisfied with the results.
