Functional Medicine Clinics

As a patient of Dr. May, an ND, my prescriptions are managed through Dr. Rice’s office for a monthly fee. When my pharmacy faxes a refill request to Dr. Rice’s office, it is often a 4-7 day wait to get a response. Diane, the office manager explained to me that they are a micro practice, with herself being the only staff member. She said a week is normal for processing a prescription refill. From my perspective as a patient, this is stressful and inconvenient, since I have no way of knowing if Dr Rice’s office has received the request and are working on it for up to a week. If they have not received it (which has happened twice), then I am starting the week long process again. Adding to the frustration is the fact that they have limited office hours and most often I only get a recording when I call. This is not a patient-oriented set up.

I've had a great experience working with Dr. Rice. He appears to be one of the only doctors in town working with patients from a "functional" approach, dealing with hormones, gastrointestinal, genetics, life stress and overall well being, getting to my root cause issues unlike other doctors in town that will barely give you five minutes and your out the door. Every visit has been about an hour or until all questions and lab work have been gone over. It looks like some of the reviewers have had a hard time reaching the office but I have never had a problem either getting in contact with him or his friendly assistant. Once your a patient he or his assistant can be easily reached via an online portal.

I have had multiple aesthetic procedures done and have been satisfied each time! The office is beautiful and clean and the attention to detail shows. Sam has been very helpful in assessing my skin care needs and can see an improvement in my skin already! Highly recommend.

Not impressed at all! I made an appointment 6 weeks ago for my son. I tried many times to call and confirm but could not get through since their phone line did not work. Dr.Rice called the day of my appointment to let me know he had given away the appointment since he couldn't confirm it. So I decided to stop by their office. When I arrived there was nobody there. After sitting in the waiting room for about five minutes, Diane breezed in. I think she is supposed to be the office manager. She apologized and rescheduled our appointment for the next day. The next day I show up with my son. After waiting for about fifteen minutes in the waiting room I get a call from Diane. Apparently she had forgotten about our appointment and thought it had been scheduled for November 8th. She apologized and said she would call me right back with a new appointment. I never heard from her again. Two trips to that office in 24 hours and no appointment. Until they get their act together I would not recommend anyone giving them a try. Highly unprofessional in my opinion. Oh and did I mention they do not bill insurance? They are cash only.

Thank you Sam and Amie for such an amazing experience with the amazing skin care and to my new journey to prep me for micro needling. I did the WiQu peel and it’s only been a few days but I can honestly see results and minimal to no peeling. The office is super clean and cozy and the staff is amazing and very attentive. Can’t wait to go back for my next peel.
