I’m not the Karen type but here we go. I had an appointment with these people I’ve been waiting for the last few months scheduled for next week. Something came in up and I was on the fence about rescheduling depending on how long the appointment would actually be. I get an automated call lastnight at 7pm - option 1 confirms, option 2 reschedules. I clicked two just to be safe with the plan to speak with a human this morning. Before 9 am I’m talking to someone and she let’s me know appointment is already gone. No warnings that selection is a final thing on the automated system, no follow up call of “hey we noticed you selected to reschedule - wanted to confirm that was the case” Anyway, what are ya gonna do. Now they’re booked out for another 4 months. I get it. I clicked option 2. But now when I’m just asking the rep how/why questions about their process she’s getting a little nasty. I’m not mad, just disappointed and shes responding to me like I’m on the attack. I let her know that I am no longer interested in rescheduling as a result of all of this (& her response). No effort to resolve anything, no accountability, no empathy, nothing. I felt some type of way and was planning on filling out a review. Never do it, but I was going to give them 1 star. Holy Spirit checked me and made me acknowledge my actions and impact on the situation. I selected option 2 at the end of the day so I have decided to select option 2 again.
I see Dr Tanksley once a year to have pre-cancerous lesions on my face treated. Doctor usually sprays liquid nitrogen on the lesions. At one time he served in the submarine navy and he proudly displays the proof in his office.
When I first called, the receptionist was one of the most lovely people I've worked with. She got me in sooner than expected and followed up promptly. Unfortunately that is where the good experience ends. When I arrived, the receptionists were cold. I get it, being customer facing is difficult these days, but your attitude plays a big role in how people will treat you. I waited inside of the doctors office for 20 minutes before seeing her, and I am NOT exaggerating, she was in the room for 3 and a half minutes, said all but two sentences about what she's going to prescribe me, and left. No hi, no questions, not getting to know me, no trying to get to the bottom of my issue that had been ruling my life for over a year. Cold, cold, cold. I received my prescription but never used it and my issues went away (I believe they may have been stressed induced which I communicated to the doctor). I get a follow-up appointment reminder and promptly cancel. I'm not spending another $60 for zero help. I cancel via the email reminder and they call to confirm that I wanted to cancel days later. The person who answer the phone when I called back had zero customer service skills (as simple as saying hi, how can I help you today) and instead wanted to put the onus on me to recount every detail. I told her I was called to confirm a cancellation and gave my name, and she immediately gives me attitude about "okayyyyyy...well who called you, we have 4 receptionists so how am I supposed to know." They didn't leave a name, which I said and I continued to get an off-putting attitude. I gave you my name, and am confirming once again that I am cancelling, what more could you possibly need. Just the attitude and short temper got me. Clearly this is a place that is just interested in churn and burn, get you in and out, and get their money. We all need to do better and be better about how we are speaking to people. I do not recommend this facility.
I wish there were anything lower than one star. The people there don't show any care or compassion for a patient at all. They behave like they are robots who only care about money. I initially chose this place simply because of the ratings and it turned out the ratings are falsely misleading. The doctors barely did anything in most of my visits there and I've always had bad impressions of the reception too. Most recently, when I needed them to schedule a visit urgently, they had nothing until later the next week. So I made an appointment but told them only in case they couldn't get back to me that afternoon and I would still need them after going to a an urgent care. I ended up go to urgent care for something I later knew is poison ivy and focused on my critical condition the next week. I forgot about the appointment with them because they didn't get back to me about availability in that afternoon and they didn't send any reminder for the appointment made for the next week. Yes, they never send any reminders or confirmations for appointments anytime. The only thing they are extremely fast and efficient is send over a bill for a no-show and extremely fast to call back after request for reconsideration of the situation. The worst clinic I ever chose and would tell anybody I know who might want to find a dermatology. I don't care about donating 25 dollars but I must say how unprofessional and callous they are. I would never go there anymore and would warn anybody about this dermatology. And by they way, they don't start answering calls even after their normal business hours and the answering service is unbelievable rude. And I echo what another patient said here "Apparently they make their money by falsely billing their patients. Stay away!"
Had my first appointment today. I was happy with my visit. Everyone was very nice, and I trusted my Doctor. I would highly recommend.
