The patient experience was very nice. Polite receptionists. Handled efficiently. They would benefit from having an electronic sign-in process rather than paper but it’s OK. Dr Beckett was very professional and communicative. She answered all my questions. I never felt rushed in the process. Very nice experience overall.

This should count as (2) separate "5 star" reviews because my husband and I were both seen by (Dermatologist) Dr. Joseph Lee, for full body scans, and to establish a relationship with a Dr. we felt comfortable with. Dr. Lee is exactly what we hoped for! He was very personable and easy to talk to. He reviewed our medical history(s) in great detail. The full body scans were completed very meticulously. As he checked out each area we brought to his attention he was able to put our minds at ease while completing the most thorough and comprehensive dermatology exam my husband and I have had in many years! I recommend DR. JOSEPH LEE to anyone who is seriously looking for a Doctor of Dermatology that they can trust.

I called and scheduled for a preventative cancer screening that is covered under my insurance. This is something I have done once a year and decided to come to Sona after my previous dermatologist retired. I was in / out of the office within 20 minutes of seeing Dr. Beckett - she performed a simple cancer screening. A couple weeks later, I get a bill for $100+. Although they performed a preventative service, they told my insurance (through their billing codes) that I was in for a general appointment instead. Apparently, Sona Dermatology does not utilize preventative codes because they are a specialist (my last dermatologist office was too so this makes no sense to me). It's a shame and I hope they do better with informing their patients about this moving forward. Now I'm stuck with a $100+ bill for something that I've had done for free for my entire adulthood.

5 stars for the clinicians and front desk service. The wait time was never less than 25 minutes for a less than 10 minute appointment. This was for accutane. The doctors are wonderful But the scheduling staff really should be more realistic about how much time they need for each appointment.

The office is well run and Dr. Thomas Yu is pleasant, knowledgeable and very competent. He conducted a very comprehensive examination and carefully removed several growths with minimal pain. The office later followed up with the pathology reports in only 2 days. I highly recommend Dr. Yu.
