What a fraud, this guy is NOT a skin cancer specialist let alone an honest human being. Every time I was seen in his office over the past 5 years he has had new staff. All of which are always so pleasant and very knowledgeable. He had a fantastic group of girls about 2.5 years ago and they are gone, it says a lot about a doctor when the turn around is so high. This man should really not be practicing medicine. He has the nickname in town known as “the butcher.” He is manipulative, judgmental, of and if you smoke or take pain medication he will look at you with disgust and treat you like you’re not worthy of his presence. What an awful feeling. He will never admit to his own mistakes, everything is the patients fault. What a joke. And you will get bills after bills in the mail. When I first started going I never received a bill. I don’t know who he has running that place. Crazy!

First, let me say the office staff is excellent. Having that out of the way, my experience with Dr. Herrera was quite different. When I initially went to see him, it was for an earlobe tear. He told me my insurance would not cover it without even checking, even though he was a participating provider. Soo we scheduled the surgery, minor as it was. When I went in, he said good morning, take your glasses off and then, when finished, two weeks. Those were the words he spoke to me the entire time I was there. In two weeks, I went back to get my stitches out, he said they needed to stay in another week because I smoke. Okay, so never in my like, after countless surgeries, have stitches or staples stayed in more than 10 days and mine were in for over three weeks. Of course, they grew into the skin and he had to rip them out, causing bleeding. Nothing said, no apologies, no acknowledgement that he may have made an error, just see you in three months. Summing up, I have never in my life met a more obnoxious, arrogant and self-important person in my life. The result was sub-par at best, and I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. Oh, and my insurance did cover it so they had to refund my money. Worst experience with a doctor/surgeon ever.

Dr. Herrera,. He is one of the best Dr.s I have ever seen. He's caring, pleasant and explains everything. His staff is just like him. I was referred to him and I am so thankful. I have seen the Dr. For numerous surgerys involving skin cancer basil cell. And I will say that they all were Purdy invasive surgeries and the results I have been receiving or great. Dr. Herrara is very great surgon and I could not have ask for more and am so blessed I did not need to go done the road to Frederick or Baltimore for my work.

I only gave Dr Herrera 1 star due to the staff. I went to him 10 years ago and twice he tried to fix the horrific plastic surgery he did after my mastectomy and it still looks awful. The worst bed side manners imaginable.
