I felt compelled to write this review to share my experience with Dr. Oren Friedman, as I believe it's crucial for others facing similar challenges to make informed decisions. In 2018, I underwent multiple surgeries and proton radiation at Penn to combat a rare cancer in my head/neck. Unfortunately, these treatments had a significant impact on the aesthetics of my nose, leading me to seek reconstructive surgery. Dr. Friedman was recommended to me by my Penn surgeons, and I approached him with hope and trust. Initially, he displayed a friendly demeanor and good bedside manner, acknowledging that my case was more complex than most. He proposed a surgery in 2021, during which he planned to use rib cartilage to rebuild my nose. Regrettably, the surgery did not yield the expected results. What concerns me most is the post-operative care I received. I was never prescribed antibiotics to prevent infection, and when I suspected an infection a week after the surgery, Dr. Friedman diagnosed it via FaceTime and prescribed antibiotics without examining me in person. This untreated infection had severe consequences, causing my nose to shrink and leaving me with a pronounce deformity, including an indent on my left nostril and a significant height difference between my nostrils. It was an incredibly disheartening outcome, and it became evident that my case may have been too challenging for Dr. Friedman from the start. Since then, I sought opinions from over a dozen surgeons across the country. Eventually, I decided to undergo surgery with a surgeon in Chicago, and I am delighted with the results I have achieved, although I had to spend months stretching the skin on my nose to prepare for this procedure due to the issues from Dr. Friedman's surgery. I want to emphasize that my intention here is not to disparage Dr. Friedman. Rather, I believe that individuals facing issues related to previous surgeries or radiation should seek multiple opinions and carefully consider their options. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Dr. Friedman for such cases.

Dr. Friedman was one of the best doctors I’ve ever encountered in my experience. I had a pretty severe perforation in my septum, and also a lot of blockage in my nasal airways preventing me from breathing properly. I put the surgery off for years because of how nervous I was, but I knew he would be able to help me after having two consults to discuss all my concerns. It was not an easy fix, but Dr. Friedman did a fantastic job at caring for my needs. He went above & beyond to answer my questions before surgery, and his entire team always made sure I was taken care of. He is the epitome of what you want in a doctor. Someone who is an expert in their craft, but also a caring individual who understands exactly how to communicate with his patients to make them feel comfortable. Being able to breathe again through both my nostrils has been a dream come true for me that I never thought would be possible again. Thank you Dr. Friedman & your incredibly kind staff.

After countless research for a plastic surgeon near and far that took the span of 4 years, I finally met Dr. Friedman who was the best doctor to perform my cosmetic rhinoplasty procedure. I knew after my first encounter that he was everything I was looking for in a doctor. I felt at ease with his expertise. Prior to my surgery, I had 3 appointments with him to discuss my plans for a rhinoplasty which entailed: evaluating my nose profile, seeing him work with the 3D imaging to mock up potential results of what my nose may look like, and showing him model images of the results I desired, displayed on a tri-fold board. Dr. Friedman was patient, knowledgeable and honest with me when it came to analyzing images of completed rhinoplasties, (which demonstrated the aesthetic I desired) verse what he could realistically achieve that would be best for me. Dr. Friedman always had my best interests at heart and exceeded my expectations by crafting a nose that is refined, natural, beautiful and proportionate to my face. I learned from Dr. Friedman that a perfect rhinoplasty is supposed to enhance and bring attention to other features on your face as opposed to just being focused on the nose, which is meant to look natural. Dr. Friedman is a personable, and compassionate doctor who always encouraged me not to worry and reassured me that I would be happy with my results. Dr. Friedman is exceptional and without a doubt you will be in good hands. I am forever grateful for Dr. Friedman.

Going into this surgery, I did a lot of research to find the perfect plastic surgeon to help me through my journey. I was recommended Dr. Oren Friedman by my NP and after doing research on him, I set up an appointment to meet him. When I met with him at the first appointment, he was very kind and knew what he was talking about. He wants the best for his patients and is extremely helpful throughout their cosmetic/medical journey. I had many questions and Dr. Friedman was very responsive and answered all of my questions throughly and expeditiously. On the day of the surgery, he made me feel very comfortable and I knew I was good hands. Post-surgery, Dr. Friedman called me to check in and see how I was doing; this continued a few days after surgery. What I liked about his follow-up routine was that he gave me his direct number which is very personable and well appreciated since he was willing to speak with me and easy to reach; any questions or concerns I had, he was a phone call away. My overall concern going into this was I wanted my nose to look natural and be able to breathe better. Dr. Friedman made sure I left the operation table looking my most-natural self and once the stents were out after the weekly follow-up visit, I can already breathe so much better. Overall, I had an amazing experience with Dr. Friedman and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a plastic surgeon who will be helpful, reliable, and do a excellent job during their cosmetic/medical journey.
