Update - Aug 25th 2023 - Have upcoming appt for visit at 15 month checkpoint post FUT surgery, hair thinning a lot in the frontal area. This area was THE main reason I got the surgery. Not dense at all. You can still see light on my scalp in the frontal area. My last visit I expressed the same concern. Reached out to physician and staff to inform that it is thinning more. Sept 28, 2023 upd: Dr. Ekpo has outlined the area where I still have a bald spot in the frontal hair line, where the FUT surgery was performed and FINALLY agreed it was clear evidence of no hair growth - smh. This was only after she had requested and I provided- pic of my hair dryer, hair products, lab results from my primary dr. - anything she can think of to NOT take responsibility. She then does a biopsy on my scalp, results came back negligible. ALL OF THIS SHOULD HV BEEN done BEFORE ANY surgery. Still she could not find any reason except for her poor incompetent FUT surgery results. She has finally agreed that FUE is a better solution instead of another FUT to remove more of my scalp, wasn't going to happen. It was my suggestion for FUE as I was going to get it done by another doctor but wanted a refund for this messy surgery. She tells me she does FUE. I never knew as she did NOT give me any options. I received a pricing estimate for her to redo the surgery for this area. I will not pay a 2nd time for a surgery that you did not competently execute the first time. Now she is not responsive, hiding. I am not going to play these games. So I will proceed via legal advice for medical negligence. I've already consulted with the attorney and kept her up to date. A physician that is not willing to correct their mistakes and be accountable is a red flag. She does not tell the truth with all risks and options upfront. She makes decisions for you without your knowledge. Medical care decisions is a collaborative effort. This is probably why she no longer accepts insurance. Do not trust this incompetent person. Poor excuse and representation of a professional competent physician. Do not come to this practice. There are plenty of reputable options. It is interesting how she gets a spike in fake 5 star reviews after I post my honest assessment. Moral of this story - a patient that trusted this doctor is still left with the same issue she came in with - balding frontal 2 inch spot right in front. Any service she offers, you can find many many other dermatologists that offers that treatment for less money, trust worthy, responsive and stands behind their work. No games requesting senseless items AFTER the surgery and NOT before - pathetic. Never choose FUT as they slice a piece of your scalp off and stretches what is left. Then if you do not get your results, she wants to go back in and slice more scalp off. She even admitted that she was thinking about getting another FUT done on her scalp to enhance her first results - crazy town. FUE is the better option - no scar, nor stretched scalp, quicker healthier recovery. Then use enhanced treatments such as PRP, minoxidil, finasteride, tretinoin, stem cell injections, led light therapy, etc.. to strengthen existing hair and stimulate dormant follicles so they grow. There are over 30 evidence based scientific Rx and cocktails at your disposal with the right doctor. You will have thickness and density. The first step should be DNA sample of your hair that identifies which of the 7 biomarkers and 16 genes known to affect hair loss and growth. Then offer you ALL of your options. Please do your own research and do not end up like me. Felicia Ekpo can not be trusted. Only focused on FUT surgeries.

I cannot recommend Dr. Ekpo highly enough! For the first time in my life, I started losing excessive amounts of hair, including several bald spots. Dr. Ekpo took the time to assess my full health situation. Diagnosed with Alopecia Areata, she provided multiple options for treatment and continually reassured me that additional solutions were available if needed. Ultimately, we have found a treatment that has worked extremely well and I have a full head of hair growing again!! Her incredible caring, encouraging manner translates through her entire staff. They are all helpful, friendly, and responsive.

Dr. Ekpo is amazing. She is very patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. She listens and works with you to establish a treatment plan that fits your needs. I wish all doctors were like her.

Staff and Dr. Ekpo were friendly, detailed and thorough. The staff and Dr. Ekpo ensured the visit was great by limiting stress with regard to the process of completing new patient paperwork, sending directions and ensuring I felt welcome and heard during my visit. Dr. Ekpo was very clear about the process of establishing a plan and method to combat my concerns. She ensured I felt comfortable with the process and listened to any concerns or questions I had.
