I was a new patient at this office and this will be my first and last time! I was told to arrive 30 mins early to fill out new patient paperwork and then proceeded to wait another hour to be seen. There weren’t enough chairs to accommodate everyone in the waiting room which made the whole wait process very uncomfortable and very crowded. Then once I got called back to the room, the nurse (Nicole) was very unprofessional and condescending in her tone right away. Immediately after I sat in the room, the first question she asked was if my family has a history of cancer. I answered yes. Without any care to the weight of the topic itself, she asked what type and I told her I’m unsure of the exact types. She rudely scoffed and said “if you don’t know then I can’t document it”. Which I understand her point but the way she approached the situation immediately felt like it lacked compassion entirely. She left the room to consult with the doctor and then came back stating “you’re missing so much information in your portal as it is” as if that would justify not adding in family history and that’s when I let her know her tone and approach was not appreciated. The office manager (Mischa) then came in and heard out my concerns which I appreciated. Mischa was the only one to apologize and hear me out and without her involvement I would have given one star to this review instead of two. (Thank you to Mischa!) Once the doctor did come in, she was friendly but in a rush and the procedure itself also felt extremely rushed. I brought my concerns up to the doctor regarding Nicole’s behavior but she did not apologize or say she would follow up with Nicole which did not make me feel heard from her end at all. Considering this is her practice, I would expect that the doctor would show accountability for her staff. Based on other reviews, it sounds like this doctor is known for not taking the time to listen to patients & is only interested in the quantity of people she sees instead of the *quality* of care provided. I agree bc that’s been my poor experience as well. I will not return here ever again and suggest to anyone considering this place…just don’t.
Had an appointment today. Referral was sent. presented my Medicare card and my medicare supplement card. They refused to see me because they said that My supplement was a medicaid type plan. medicare pays primary and sends balance to the supplement. Dr. is not involved with the supplement. I have since verified this with Medicare and with The supplement provider. DR K is on the list with medicare as accepting the Medicare approved amount for services and therefore should have moved forward with my care. Dr. K needs to have her front office educated as to how medicare supplements work. I will not be back but now have to begin the 2 month long process to see another dermatologist.
I wish I could give zero stars. My experience with this doctor was extremely disappointing. I felt rushed throughout the entire appointment, and it was clear that my concerns were not being taken seriously. I specifically expressed that I did not want to take medication and explained my skin issues, yet the doctor seemed dismissive and inattentive. The appointment was so rushed that I barely had the opportunity to discuss my concerns. Instead of addressing them thoughtfully, the doctor appeared eager to move on, making me feel as though I was being written off. I was charged $120 for a mere five-minute consultation, during which my concerns were neither acknowledged nor properly addressed. The most frustrating part is that the prescribed treatment led to a severe flare-up, which could have been avoided had the doctor taken the time to listen to my initial symptoms and concerns—especially regarding my sensitivity to antibiotics. As a result, I was left feeling self-conscious and unwilling to go outside for weeks. This experience was not only unprofessional but also deeply frustrating and disheartening.
I visited K Dermatology & Wellness Institute yesterday, and I cannot recommend them highly enough! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel comfortable and welcomed. The environment was clean, professional, and calming, setting the tone for a wonderful experience. The care I received was exceptional. The dermatologist took the time to thoroughly listen to my concerns, explain my treatment options, and ensure I understood every step of the process. Their knowledge and expertise were evident, and their genuine compassion made me feel valued as a patient.
The wait to see the doctor is usually quite short, both in the waiting room and in the examination room. Dr. Koriakos is friendly, professional, and efficient. She is sensitive to my concerns, and she provides adequate information to make me comfortable with her professional assessments. Mostly, she makes me feel both cared for personally and confident that I'm getting excellent medical care.
