My wife has a surgery scheduled that she needs and at first they were nice on the phone appointment with her, but Irene from the billing department did not give us the correct number that we were supposed to pay at first. She was so rude to the point where we had to hang up on her and try to call again for a different agent, and that is unacceptable. Irene told us on the phone that she would cancel my wife’s surgery and would send us to the business department so we could argue our case of why we should have a lower payment upfront for the surgery, then review if my wife's surgery is medically necessary, which is absolutely outrageous. If you need surgeries scheduled and you’re trying to pay for your surgery, do not get in contact with Irene because she won’t try to help you. Please talk to Denise instead, she was incredible. She was amazing and she did everything she could and she heard us out and worked with us and reran the numbers to an accurate amount that we had to pay according to our insurance per our benefits agent.
I have been to the urgent care clinic in Temple and tried getting an appointment with my primary doctor hoping to avoid the ER. My primary doctor was not available for 2 months, and the urgent care was terrible. My son had a sore chest and throat, coughing up yellowish green phlegm, and ran a fever along with chills. The Temple Urgent Care Dr tested for covid and strep since both tests were negative; he was sent home with only medication for sore throat. Five days later, he's getting worse and having to go to the emergency room because he couldn't breathe well. The ER Dr's gave him antibiotics and an inhaler. He's finally getting well. It seems to me that if the urgent care clinics did a better job, fewer people would have to be at the ER. It would also help if one could actually get a Dr's appointment too. The whole medical community in Temple should be revamped to meet the needs of the community. It seems as though the area has grown in population, but the hospitals and drs are not growing with the community needs.
I have been a patient for about 2 years when I first started having tingle sensations. My primary care doctor knew I needed to be seen and made calls for me to been seen by a neurologist here almost immediately. I have had MRI’s and Spinal Taps done here, and even went to the ER to get a Blood patch done. Every single person I have an encounter with is so friendly and nice. From nurses, doctors, and sign in staff, everyone is accommodating and helpful. I recommend Baylor Scott and White to everyone I talk to.
I have been struggling with a rare chronic illness for most of my life. It causes intense pain and daily extreme nausea, and frequent vomiting. I did not go here in the beginning but a very kind doctor had me transferred here by ambulance and it’s the best thing that’s happened for my health in many many years. The people here are so kind. Nurses and doctors alike. I’m not used to such good care. As a matter of fact I’ve been a victim of hospital isolation, gaslighting, I’ve been yelled at and cussed out for seeking treatment. I’ve been ignored (so much so that even when the nurses did come in they wouldn’t look or speak to me) here every single concern I have has been noted and addressed. I’ve seen doctor after doctor and no one, and I mean NO ONE has done anything meaningful to increase my quality of life. Here they’re coming up with a discharge plan so hopefully I don’t have to go back in a few days when I can’t get enough fluids in. I’ve seen 8 wonderful doctors since I’ve been here, and I’m actually hopeful for a solution, or at least something better than what I’m doing now. I’ve been surviving my life. Not living it. From the bottom of my heart thank you for the kindness of your staff, and the attention to the real problem. I’ll never go anywhere else.
When my son was transferred to this hospital, I was immediately struck by the incredible care and professionalism exhibited by everyone involved. From the moment we arrived, the doctors demonstrated remarkable expertise and compassion, taking the time to explain every step of the process and ensuring that we felt reassured during a challenging time. The nurses were equally exceptional, providing attentive, patient-centered care that made all the difference in my son's recovery and in our peace of mind. The entire staff, from those handling administrative tasks to those maintaining the facilities, worked seamlessly to create an environment of support and healing. Their genuine concern, empathy, and commitment to excellence were unparalleled. Every interaction reminded me that we were in the best hands possible, and I am deeply grateful for the tremendous effort and kindness shown by everyone at the hospital.
