Carilion Clinic Family Medicine - Giles

All 3 ladies I spoke with at the front desk and the nurse were extremely helpful and responsive to all my questions. If anything they went out of the way to stop and help me quickly with kindness and smiles making me feel comfortable. Dr. Frazier was awesome and extremely personable. He listened to anything I had to say and didn't rush out of the room. I never felt like I was just left in the room waiting at any point. For a Mon appt during lunch time this was pretty successful and I left happy with all the interactions I had. They have even followed up asap with a call about my referral and she had a solution to the problem I had which saved me a phone call.

This used to be a great Drs office they've went way downhill. So my last experience was this, my wife was pregnant in her tubes and we didn't know it her tube ruptured and we had to rush her to Radford ER ( because if you can make it don't go to Giles ER) I happened to have a Dr appointment here the same day and completely forgot Because of my wife is bleeding internally and we're losing our pregnancy why would I remember a Drs appointment right?! Well they kicked me out of the Drs office for missing the appointment even after talking to several people and explaining this issue I'm repeatedly hung up on and not called back trying to get seen again!! I highly recommend anyone go somewhere else. If this place really cared about it's people this would of been easily sorted out with maybe even a sorry for ur loss or hope ur wife's ok or anything. I have a lot more I could say but stooping to the trash level this place has is beyond me and I refuse to. Hope anyone who has family going here or goes here theirselfs reads this so they know the kind of staff they're dealing with!!

I've had horrible pain in my ribs since I was a child, my sides get very sore whenever I do basic tasks like walking for too long, or even just driving. I've always been a relatively healthy person, but I've never been able to run or do much exercise because of how easily the pain would occur. I was rushed to the hospital twice because the pain got so bad I could barely stand up, I felt extremely dizzy, my lungs were hurting and I could barely breathe. Both times they blamed it on my period without even checking my ribs because I'm "young" and that I "probably wouldn't have any extreme issues." (I'm 18.) I went to two different follow-up appointments and they never once checked the painful areas, they simply blamed it on anxiety and gave me antidepressants. I don't even have words to describe how stupid this is.

Unprofessional and unethical. I came out of my last appointment to the checkout area to find 3 of the office staff standing around talking about me. My blood pressure was high because of the way I was treated during my visitby the nurse, doctor and staff. I will never go back to them for that and several other reasons. Be aware that you rarely ever get to see your own doctor. Saff is rude and like I stated they will talk about you. Violation of Privacy rights. I had a torn meniscus and needed surgery. Instead of looking at my knee the doctor stood back with his arms crossed and keep saying "lose weight". Would not even look at my injury. I had to go to another doctor on my own in order to get my knee looked at and sent to a ortho for sugery. It's worth the drive to go to another doctors office. If I could of given them 0 stars I would of.

My son was sick with double ear infection and strep. The doctor put his prescription into the wrong pharmacy. After a few days my son still wasn't feeling good. It took over an hour to get someone to answer the phone. When the nurse called back she said the doctor would call in his prescription. This was at 10am thry didnt get his prescription filled till 5pm and send it to the wrong pharmacy again.
