Skin Solutions Dermatology - Hendersonville

From the moment I stepped into the front door, I was welcomed by Amber who was quick to check me in & acclimate me to the facility! I barely got settled into the exam room before a very friendly young lady welcomed me and obtained some needed information. Ashley was my provider who was very professional and made me feel at ease for my exam. She appeared very knowledgeable and experienced throughout the exam. I would highly recommend Skin Solutions if you’re concerned about possible skin issues! I was in-and-out within 30 minutes.

My experience has been fantastic. 5 star treatment every step of the way. When I spoke about things that were concerning to me, I truly felt like I was being listened too, I was heard and I was understood. They explained everything in a way that I was able to understand, before starting anything and as they were doing procedures. There were a couple of times that I asked for them to re-explain something, to make sure that I was understanding them correctly. They were more than willing to explain it all again, in a way that anybody would understand, and they seemed unphased even happy to do so. I was very nervous and hesitant, at first, to ask about some of my concerns. They were extremely reassuring and convinced me that I could ask about any concerns I have without any fears of judgements. They were very respectful of all of my concerns throughout, even though in the end, I was building up my concerns in my own head, to be much bigger than they really were. I know that if I have any future concerns, all I have to do is call, schedule an appointment, and they will get me in as soon as possible. I will refer ALL of my family and friends!!! They are just so understanding and treatment like theirs is extremely hard to find❤️.

Ashley is the bestest!! Very thorough and tackles problems head on. She really listens to your concerns and makes sure you understand what’s going on and what the treatment plan is for you. I can’t say enough good things about her!

Skin Solutions got us in quickly to take care of an accidental burn on his face. They provided excellent instructio s and the topical medicines to alleviate the pain and heal tissue. Very empathetic, knowledgeable, professional and caring.

Searching for a dermatology provider to take good care of you? Keep looking. I had concerns after my first visit but told myself to trust some of the other positive reviews. My concerns were validated after the second, and final, visit. I'll never return to this office. Wasted time, wasted money. Before sharing more, I want to point out that the nurses and staff were friendly and professional during both visits. My problem was with the nurse practitioner, who failed to meet my expectations on both occasions. During my first visit, having explained when I made the appointment that I was needing both a full body check and specific care for several irritated spots on my skin, it was clear upon arrival that they weren't prepared to address the individual spots. The nurse appeared to be receiving that information from me for the first time. I received the overall check, but it fell short of my full body, and it was surprisingly brief. I've had examinations in the past, so I know the difference between someone searching carefully for potential problems and someone rushing through it. The nurse, as I said, had already made it clear that they weren't prepared for the specific problem areas I had mentioned in my call, but that doesn't justify hurrying through a check that might help prevent serious issues later. For my problem areas, the nurse practitioner prescribed a topical cream, to which I replied: "I've already used that, it was prescribed by my previous dermatologist and it made no difference." The look on her face. "Are you SURE it was THAT cream?" she asked. Pure condescension, my first taste of her awful bedside manner. Yes, same cream. But, fine, I tried it again and with the same result. She had assured me that it could be dealt with on the following visit. I had been clear: I had two particularly problematic spots that had already been treated unsuccessfully by another dermatologist. There was a third spot that was less of a priority. Second visit, I'm excited to finally have done what I had hoped to have treated during the first visit. But, no, they've made an appointment to remove just one of the three--and the least in priority, at that. The nurse practitioner was inflexible, made some references to insurance limitations (which were somehow not a factor in treatments from my previous dermatologist billing to the same insurance company), and explained that a biopsy was needed before an excision. These had already been biopsied, I explained that during the first visit. They were non-cancerous. There was no request of records after that. I was only seeing another dermatologist because I moved, not because the care from my previous dermatologist wasn't good. Needless to say, the nurse practitioner hadn't been taking proper notes during the first visit or listening to where I was in the process. As a result, the second visit was a complete waste of time and only setting me up for additional visits at $50 a pop. There was a comment about a misunderstanding on my part. There was not, I clearly recall what the nurse practitioner said about "adding on" during the next visit if the cream didn't work. She'd even underscored that they'd already have me scheduled for an excision. And she made a comment during the second visit about having set aside an hour for the one excision. An hour? My previous dermatologist could do 2-3 in that time and have me stitched up and dressed before the hour was up. I know because they'd done it. It's the reason I also know quality care, attention to detail and good listening skills were absent from the care I received from Skin Solutions Dermatology in Hendersonville, and that's because I've had a dermatologist that's displayed those traits. I left rather than risk having anything done and having to return. I expect my care providers to make me feel like I'm the most important person in the world once my appointment begins. I expect them to listen and take good notes. I expect them to respect my time and money. I also expect them to be clear and consistent about treatment.
